So... Anthrocon 2019?

zenmigawa June 15th, 2019, 8:17 pm

[copy-paste from Welcome to the PCA! News section]

Yeah, so I'll be in Pittsburgh, PA over the 4th of July weekend to attend Anthrocon. Dunno if anyone else here will be interested in that bit of news. I'm not gonna be doing anything particularly artist-y, aside from maybe hanging out in the Zoo when there's no interesting panels or tourism-things to check out, so if y'all wanna meet-and-greet me, I won't be against that.

As far as art requests or commissions, I don't have a solid policy on that yet, but it's better to expect that if I accept, I'll charge you typical-veteran-furry-artist prices for my labor - $45 for inks or some junk like that.

Anyway... Anthrocon 2019, woooooooo.

[NEWS] Reducing frequency of updates starting 2018.6-11

zenmigawa June 10th, 2018, 11:04 am

Good morning to all, author-artist Zen Migawa here. This is my first time using the News section of this comic, and I'm not sure how effective it is in getting the word out to either Fans or just site visitors in general, but I hope it reaches you all.

It is, unfortunately, not-so-good news.

I'm attending summer classes on June 11, and I have four online classes and one in-person one lined up. The classes will be intense-study as they're only between three to six weeks long, and I haven't been in a genuine school environment as a student in five years, so I have to buckle down in order to regain the old knack for study I used to have... which means I'll have to scale back on working on this comic. The original pace I had in mind was going to be 8 to 11 pages in a 30-day period, but now I'm not so sure I can return to that. However, as far as Chapter 3 is concerned, we're past the half-way point, so I intend to see this finished by August, at the very least.

Unfortunately, whether I'll be able to return to this comic as intently as I had up until now is questionable. As far as creating comics is concerned (this one included), there've been quite a few RL developments that have, frankly, taken the wind out of my sails. While I don't want to give up drawing comics for good - particularly after seeing what I was able to do on my own in a year - the dream of being able to even partially sustain myself off creative work, or reaching the career heights I've always wanted to reach, is becoming increasingly unrealistic. Hence returning to school. I need money. Not right now, but for my future livelihood.

I apologize to and thank anyone who've been patient enough to stick with this comic, and who're looking forward to seeing where this is going. I *do* have an ending in mind, and we're currently in a "Season One" sort of state, story-wise, in a planned three-seasons scheme. If I absolutely must drop my comic work for the sake of my everyday livelihood, I hope I finish Season One first. Please stick with me and see where this boy-meets-monster-buddy story takes us.

Once again, thank you for reading, and thank you for your support so far.
